This is something new, which could have some interesting applications in factories where assembly or perhaps packaging is taking place.

The general idea is that the robots interact with each other and their environment, so they share tasks and communicate with each other to get the task done.

At the moment, most are used for applications where parts are being moved around the factory, making them more intelligent than the robots you see in factories now, making their own decisions on how best to complete the task.
